This is the first portrait rendering I made entitled "Maddy" which I really credit first of all to my cousin Ed. My cousin is also an artist and in fact gave me a lot of tips in digital painting and stuff. He is also one of the great inspirations and supporters I had to carry on my ambition to become a great artist. Thank you Ed! ^__^
Welcome to my little art blog! ^_^ Through the years of practice and study, I believe it would give great use to me to compile and journalize the developments I had. Here I will be focusing on my digital journey. I believe I can learn more things as I evaluate myself and be evaluated by others as well. ^_^ Thank you for visiting my blog! “A life spent making mistakes is not only more honorable, but more useful than a life spent doing nothing.” ― George Bernard Shaw

A Tralala Birthday Wish List... (I actually have one?)
Hmmm... I always want a LOT of things... but I really don't covet to have 'em all. It just would be nice to have 'em. Mind you, these things that I want are mostly things that I also need! ^_^
Mutants
Do these girls look familiar to you?
Yes, I am featuring my sisters again! And what else have you noticed? (Aside from hey I'm there too!)
Yup, you're guessing it right! X-men characters! ^__^
The sketches were actually drawn on paper...scanned...then colored in photoshop :)
Still noob at coloring, but practicing is real fun for me ^___^ weeeheeee!!!

Early Colored Sketches
I always will be a traditional artist...a pencil artist to be exact. But I wanted to color my works. Before, I was content of black and white and gray, until, I knew that I really want to add more life to my drawings. So, below are few of my attempts to color my traditional pencil sketches, coloring them in adobe photoshop. I'm still a noob at it and obviously most of them don't have a a background- just all white.
As you can see, obviously my drawings are very into anime style, which is my comfort zone. But as they say, an artist must move out from one's comfort zone-- explore more. And so I will. :)

Black and White Portraits
It's important to have fun when you are practicing your skills! ^_^ When I discover a technique or style, I really try it several times, and my sisters and bestfriends are the usual models. Like for example on the following drawings, they are sketched portraits of my sisters and two of my bestfriends. Doing this was challenging in a way, I wanted to simplify the drawing, without too much detail, in fact, their faces especially the eyes are not too realistic. I chose to experiment on a grayscale and a large contrast of black and white with a few midtones here and there for forms. :) I really did enjoy these exercises.

Doodley Doo!
There's this childish side of me that I wanted to project, things that I liked as a child that I still carry until now ^___^ The drawings below are drawn in half sheets of bondpaper when I got bored during classes back in 2009.

I like sweets...dang...I am candidate for diabetes. Hopefully I won't get it! Nuuu!
This is simply a doodle of some of the sweet things I like.
I didn't include chocolate here. Chocolate is sacred!!!

My Earliest Digital Rendering
My earliest drawings were actually drawn in Paint. Yes the old Paint in Windows! But sadly I am not able to keep those old drawings, haha! I can still remember some of them in my mind. Now let me show you the earliest digital drawings I've retrieved from old storage.
This drawing of a girl with the vine is drawn in Pixia-- a free software I downloaded just so I could practice digital drawings. This was done around 2008. The sketch was done on April 15, using a marker on paper then after scanning, I added color. It took me a few days, since I can't use the family's PC for long hours at that time. Yep, this is one of the crappiest ones, but at that time, I felt so happy for this achievement. :)
