My Earliest Digital Rendering

My earliest drawings were actually drawn in Paint. Yes the old Paint in Windows! But sadly I am not able to keep those old drawings, haha! I can still remember some of them in my mind. Now let me show you the earliest digital drawings I've retrieved from old storage.

This drawing of a girl with the vine is drawn in Pixia-- a free software I downloaded just so I could practice digital drawings. This was done around 2008. The sketch was done on April 15, using a marker on paper then after scanning, I added color. It took me a few days, since I can't use the family's PC for long hours at that time. Yep, this is one of the crappiest ones, but at that time, I felt so happy for this achievement. :)

One of the greatest influences in my art and drawing style is Anime and it will probably never get out of my system completely. Hahaha! I wanted to create my own manga since then, so I practiced learning to draw in this way. Series such as Fushigi Yuugi, Dragon Ball, SailorMoon, Rurouni Kenshin (Samurai X) , Yuyu Hakusho (Ghost Fighter) and many more, were some of the earliest anime influences to me.

Above is an orignal character design drawn on April 2008, however the coloring was started weeks after and done in a couple or more weeks as well... Time spent on computer each day takes me 2 hours a day and I am still a noob since this is my very first Adobe Photoshop rendering. This is the first time I traced manually my outlines then coloring.

These are just two of the earliest I did. :) I will be posting more soon.

  1. I am kinda jealous. If only I saved my early drawings too :(

But it's good to see how you drew from early on to see the changes :)
